FAQs

What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse is a biostimulator that can be used in a dilute form to regenerate tissues by promoting the production of collagen, elastin, and other proteins in the skin to improve skin quality in the neck, décolleté, and other areas of the body.

What is calcium hydroxylapatite?

Calcium hydroxylapatite is a biocompatible mineral-like compound found in bones and teeth.  In medical aesthetics it is used to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin, making the skin look better over time.

Why is Radiesse® diluted?

A new way to use Radiesse effectively is through a technique called hyperdilution. This process involves diluting Radiesse and injecting it under the skin. This stimulates collagen production. The hyperdilute Radiesse technique mixes the filler with saline and lidocaine to make it thinner, changing the properties of the product so it serves the purpose of tissue rejuvenation through regeneration, rather than filling lines and wrinkles directly.

Will I see results quickly?

After treatment with dilute Radiesse, there is some immediate effect from the volume injected. Over the next few days the body resorbs most of the fluid, leaving the calcium hydroxylapatite particles to integrate into the skin. As the Radiesse degrades, the body replaces it with collagen and elastin with optimal results seen in 4 months. This is the main tenant of regenerative medicine, that the body restores the structure and function of damaged tissues over time.

How long do results last?

Results can last up to 18-24 months, but touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired look.
